After withdrawing from the RBC Canadian Open during the final round, Brooks Koepka has now pulled out of the Genesis Scottish Open. The lingering hand injury continues to affect his season.<\/p>\n

Following a strong start at TPC Toronto, Koepka struggled with numbness in his fingers. The issue appears to be ongoing, as the 36-year-old will miss this week’s $9 million purse event.<\/p>\n

Koepka will not tee off at the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club and has withdrawn from the field. This would have been his first appearance at the event since 2015.<\/p>\n

The event would have been key to Koepka\u2019s preparation ahead of The Open. However, the five-time major champion will not be accepting the sponsor\u2019s invite for the event, as reported by GolfMagic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Koepka\u2019s injury issue has been linked to ulnar nerve irritation. Although a long-term break is not on the cards, the former LIV golfer is clearly prioritizing rest before teeing it up at Royal Birkdale.<\/p>\n

Along with Koepka, Keith Mitchell has also been removed from the field at the Genesis Scottish Open. They are set to be replaced by Max McGreevy and William Mouw.<\/p>\n

With another withdrawal adding to his injury concerns, Koepka’s season has not gone entirely according to plan.<\/p>\n

The former World No. 1 came back to the PGA Tour through the Returning Members Program, and for a player with five major championships and multiple multi-win seasons, it has been a relatively quiet campaign. He has registered just one top-10 finish this season.<\/p>\n

Koepka came back to the PGA Tour through the Returning Members Program, and it has been an eventful ride for the 36-year-old since then.<\/p>\n

The former World No. 1 has registered just one top-10 finish since returning. That came at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches in February, where he finished T9, as recorded on the PGA Tour website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Koepka has missed the cut four times this season, notably at the U.S. Open last month, a tournament he has won twice in his career.<\/p>\n

However, Koepka has also recorded six top-20 finishes and has shown signs of his former self. At the season-ending major, he could very well turn his year around by coming out on top.<\/p>\n
