{"id":783703,"date":"2026-07-07T00:27:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T00:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/783703\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T00:27:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T00:27:11","slug":"ex-champion-boxer-charged-over-four-kidnappings-in-sydney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/783703\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-champion boxer charged over four kidnappings in Sydney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">A former professional boxer has been refused bail after being charged over a string of alleged Sydney abductions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives charged 26-year-old Humzah Khalid for his alleged involvement in four kidnappings and an affray between June 2025 and April 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">His arrest came after a man alleged he was kidnapped last year, sparking an investigation overseen by the State Crime Command&#8217;s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, under Strike Force Hazelvale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The 40-year-old told officers in June 2025 he was travelling with a 30-year-old man to a home in Ryde two days prior when two unknown men approached him, allegedly assaulting and kidnapping him at gunpoint.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police were told the man was driven to an unknown address where he was assaulted by several unknown men who demanded a ransom.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">After some time, the man was returned to his vehicle in Hunters Hill, and informed police of the incident two days later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Two men had previously been charged as part of the investigation and remain before the courts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">During inquiries, Mr Khalid, previously known by his boxing name The Raging Bull, was identified for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping.<\/p>\n<p>Three other alleged kidnappings<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Mr Khalid\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/674b96d56d50b3f88c0fb1ccbbd6196a.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Humzah Khalid has also been charged with one count of affray.
