\n\tSky Italia<\/a> has released first-look images of its upcoming high-end series \u201cGucci<\/a>: Game Over,\u201d which the Comcast-owned pay-TV service has described as Italy\u2019s answer to Ridley Scott\u2019s \u201cHouse of Gucci<\/a>\u201d film.<\/p>\n

\n\tMiriam Leone (\u201cThe Lions of Sicily\u201d) (pictured above) is playing Patrizia Reggiani, the former socialite convicted of hiring a hitman to murder her ex-husband. This is the role played by Lady Gaga in \u201cHouse of Gucci.\u201d\u00a0Francesco Scianna (\u201cMary Magdalen\u201d) (pictured below) is playing Maurizio Gucci, whom Reggiani ordered the hit on.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd Matilda Lutz\u00a0(\u201cFinal Cut\u201d) (pictured below) is taking on the role of Allegra Gucci, the daughter of Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani whose memoir the Sky show is based on.<\/p>\n

\n\tNils Hartmann, the now outgoing EVP of Sky Studios Italy, has repeatedly called \u201cGucci: Game Over\u201d Italy\u2019s response to \u201cHouse of Gucci.\u201d Italy\u2019s film community was not pleased about that fact that Scott did not use any Italian actors in lead \u201cHouse of Gucci\u201d roles, among other objections.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe six-episode Italian series made for the international market \u2014 which is currently shooting in Italy \u2014 is being directed by\u00a0Gabriele Muccino<\/a>, who helmed Will Smith-starrer\u00a0\u201cThe Pursuit of Happyness\u201d and a slew of Italian film and TV hits. It is being co-produced by Sky Studios and Italy\u2019s Lucky Red.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther Gucci family members Aldo, Rodolfo and Paolo Gucci are being played by Francesco Acquaroli (\u201cSuburra\u201d), Paolo Pierobon (\u201cPortobello\u201d) and Sergio Romano (\u201cThe Last One For The Road\u201d), respectively, it was announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously announced, the Sky original is based on a memoir by Allegra Gucci, which is in the form of letters to her murdered father. The book, which reveals many family secrets, talks about her parents\u2019 relationship before and after the divorce and describes details of the murder. On March 27, 1995, Maurizio Gucci, the head of the Gucci fashion house and grandson of brand founder Guccio Gucci, was shot dead on the doorstep of his Milan office. The crime was organized by Reggiani, who was convicted in 1998.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cGucci: Game Over\u201d limited series will depict the vicissitudes of the iconic family-owned fashion empire, which imploded due to feuding, using multiple timelines. The narrative will be told through the eyes of both Reggiani and her daughter Allegra. Sky has said that the idea is to \u201creconstruct the truth and identity of Allegra\u2019s family in the timeless drama of a great Italian dynasty that, consumed by the struggle for power, ended up self-destructing.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNobody is better suited than Gabriele [Muccino] in Italy to recount the sanguine saga of a powerful and turbulent family like the Gucci\u2019s,\u201d new Sky Studios Italia chief Emanuele Marchesi said at the Sky Italia upfronts presentation.<\/p>\n
