LeBron James and Draymond Green are meeting up as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer looks to join a new team for the 2026-27 season, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.<\/p>\n
Charania reported that James and Green are “spending some time here together this week” at an undisclosed location during a Tuesday appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show. <\/p>\n
Charania explained that he doesn’t think the Golden State Warriors are high on the list of potential landing spots for James unless the team is able to land Anthony Davis, though.<\/p>\n
The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers are in the top tier of options for James, per Charania. The 22-time All-Star is also taking the 76ers’ pitch seriously.<\/p>\n
James previously\u00a0informed<\/a>\u00a0the Los Angeles Lakers that he would be signing elsewhere for his 2026-27 campaign.<\/p>\n On June 30, ESPN’s\u00a0Ramona Shelburne<\/a>\u00a0reported the Warriors wanted a commitment from the four-time MVP before pursuing a trade involving Davis with the Washington Wizards.<\/p>\n James and Davis helped lead the Lakers to a championship in 2020.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Green declined his $27.7 million player option for the 2026-27 season. The move was made to help give the Warriors more financial flexibility to pair James and Davis with Green and Stephen Curry, per\u00a0Charania<\/a>.<\/p>\n
