Join now and get your first month for just $1.<\/a><\/p>\n According to WWOS<\/a>, Xavier Willison is set to re-sign with the Broncos long-term, being seen as a key piece of the club\u2019s forward pack moving forward.<\/p>\n Willison\u2019s emergence as a reliable and elite middle forward this season has come at the perfect time for Michael Maguire, who has endured periods without both Haas and Pat Carrigan who have battled injuries.<\/p>\n The 23-year-old is currently set to hit the open market on November 1 and he will have no shortage of suitors given his performances this season.<\/p>\n To ensure he doesn\u2019t leave Red Hill, Broncos bosses have reportedly tabled a contract worth $950,000 per-season, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2030 season.<\/p>\n Willison has played 67 NRL games to date since his debut as a teenager in 2021, having played every game during a turbulent 2026 campaign.<\/p>\n Xavier Willison and Payne Haas.Source: News Corp Australia<\/p>\n BIDDING WAR FOR LEOTA EMERGES<\/p>\n The Panthers find themselves in an almighty battle to retain star prop Moses Leota with six rival clubs expressing interest in the veteran.<\/p>\n Such is the strong interest in Leota, the early reports suggest that he could fetch over $1 million a season. <\/p>\n According to Code Sports<\/a>, six clubs have discussed tabling offers to Leota between $850,000 and $1 million annually.<\/p>\n Those six are understood to be the Dolphins, Roosters, Tigers, Bulldogs, Raiders and expansion Perth Bears while Penrith also remain in the running.<\/p>\n The Bears have emerged as a strong contender to sign Leota and would have a lot of money to throw at the star front rower, but the Sydney Morning Herald<\/a> reported they are only interested if Penrith allows him to leave at the end of this season.<\/p>\n Leota becomes a free agent on November 1, meaning his current contract runs through to the end of next season, but Penrith allowed the 31-year-old to test the market inside a two-week period which has now ended.<\/p>\n However, at this stage, the Panthers won\u2019t be granting Leota an early release. <\/p>\n Suncorp ERUPTS!
