{"id":787009,"date":"2026-07-08T13:15:24","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T13:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/787009\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T13:15:24","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T13:15:24","slug":"scottie-scheffler-rory-mcilroy-confirmed-for-second-golf-channel-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/787009\/","title":{"rendered":"Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy confirmed for second Golf Channel Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-media \">The world\u2019s top two golfers are confirmed to return to the Optum Golf Channel Games later this year, with both Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy set to compete in the team event in its second year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-media \">Scheffler and McIlroy headlined the inaugural event last December with a group of other players that included Ryder Cup captains Keegan Bradley and Luke Donald and Shane Lowry, Haotong Li, Luke Clanton and Sam Burns. Scheffler and McIlroy are the only two confirmed players to date for this year\u2019s made-for-TV competition, which will be contested on Wednesday, Dec. 16 and air on both Golf Channel and USA Sports, two Versant properties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-media \">Mark Loomis is also expected to return to produce the games, which may see a small tweak to its format after debuting last year with a handful of different challenge-style competitions.
