Patrick Reed\u2019s return to the PGA Tour is still weeks away, but tournament invitations are already arriving.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old revealed at this week\u2019s Genesis Scottish Open that he has received invitations from events in the FedEx Cup Fall Series. Reed\u2019s suspension ends in August, after which he\u2019ll be eligible to accept them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have had some invites from a decent amount of them. I knew coming from the U.S. Open through to The Open it was going to be five straight weeks of playing. Then I have three weeks off, that is when I\u2019m going to finalise the rest of the schedule going forward,\u201d Reed said.<\/p>\n

From September onward, Reed looks set to return to the PGA Tour. He\u2019ll be able to feature as a non-member through invitations, as confirmed by Bunkered.<\/a><\/p>\n

However, the 2018 Masters champion is eligible to play in the Genesis Scottish Open. It is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour, and the American has Honorary Lifetime Membership. He was visibly happy on his return after more than four years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is awesome to see some familiar faces from the past,\u201d Reed said.<\/p>\n

Unlike Brooks Koepka, Reed wasn\u2019t eligible for the Returning Members Program. As a result, his wait has to be longer.<\/p>\n

The American has had considerable success on the DP World Tour this season and is on the brink of making history.<\/p>\n

Reed has found his place on the DP World Tour after his exit from LIV Golf. Currently, he stands at the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings and wishes to extend his lead.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be the first American to come over here and win the Race to Dubai, it would mean a lot to me,\u201d Reed said, as per Bunkered. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a huge goal of mine. The plan is to keep playing solid golf, try and hoist as many trophies as I can and at the end hopefully I have a chance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Reed lifted two titles: the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January and the Qatar Masters in February. That put him in a solid position to finish at the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the 35-year-old is well on his way to securing one of the 10 PGA Tour cards on offer via the Race to Dubai Rankings and strengthening his place on the American circuit next year.<\/p>\n
