You’d have to be a long-time, loyal Boston Celtics<\/a> fan to remember the name Jerome Moiso.<\/p>\n

As a refresher: Moiso was a 6-foot-10 lefty from France who played at UCLA before the Celtics picked him with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n

He ended up playing just 145 games, averaging 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds, as he suited up for the Celtics, Hornets, Raptors, Nets and Cavaliers.<\/p>\n

Moiso was out of the NBA by 2005.<\/p>\n

He had one lasting legacy, though — a lengthy trade tree.<\/p>\n

That tree has finally reached its final branch. Nikola Vucevic was a part of it, but with his signing with the Orlando Magic, there’s no more pieces of the tree to be traded.<\/p>\n

Jerome Moiso trade tree<\/p>\n

The trade tree started when the Celtics sent Moiso to the 76ers in August 2001 for Roshown McLeod and a 2003 first-round pick.<\/p>\n

That 2003 first-rounder turned into Dahntay Jones, the next step on this tree.<\/p>\n

The Celtics traded Jones with Troy Bell to the Grizzlies in June 2003 for Marcus Banks and Kendrick Perkins.<\/p>\n

Perkins stuck around a long time but was eventually part of a trade with Nate Robinson to the Oklahoma City Thunder in February 2011 that brought back Jeff Green and a few picks.<\/p>\n

Green was involved in a three-team trade in January 2015 that sent a future first-round pick to the Celtics.<\/p>\n

That first-rounder ended up being Aaron Nesmith in 2020.<\/p>\n

The Celtics traded Nesmith in July 2022 to the Indiana Pacers as part of a bigger package to land Malcolm Brogdon.<\/p>\n

Brogdon was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of the October 2023 deal to get Jrue Holiday.<\/p>\n

The Celtics traded Holiday back to Portland in July 2025 for Anfernee Simons.<\/p>\n

And then Simons was dealt before the deadline to the Chicago Bulls for Vucevic.<\/p>\n

Now with Vucevic leaving by free agency and not trade, the tree is over.<\/p>\n

Jerome Moiso’s legacy is complete.<\/p>\n
