{"id":787884,"date":"2026-07-08T22:26:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T22:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/787884\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T22:26:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T22:26:11","slug":"zendaya-earns-third-emmy-acting-nomination-for-euphoria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/787884\/","title":{"rendered":"Zendaya earns third Emmy acting nomination for &#8216;Euphoria&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It\u2019s official: Zendaya is going for an Emmy Awards <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/awards\/story\/2026-06-10\/zendaya-euphoria-hbo-rue-emmy-three-peat-whos-counting\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">three-peat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Smack dab in the middle of <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/story\/2026-04-02\/zendaya-guide-euphoria-the-drama-odysssey-dune-spider-man\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">her most dominant year in Hollywood yet<\/a>, the 29-year-old actor received a <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/awards\/story\/2026-07-08\/emmy-nominations-2026-complete-list-nominees\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">lead drama actress nomination<\/a> for her portrayal of Rue in \u201cEuphoria,\u201d her third nom in the category and sixth Emmy nomination overall.<\/p>\n<p>She won the award for lead actress in a drama series in  2020 and 2022, and holds the record for both the category\u2019s youngest-ever winner and the first Black actor to win it twice. <\/p>\n<p>Zendaya is nominated alongside  Carrie Coon, Chase Infiniti, Keri Russell and Rhea Seehorn in the lead actress in a drama category.<\/p>\n<p>While critics were less enthused about \u201cEuphoria\u2019s\u201d third season compared  with its first two, Zendaya\u2019s performance was viewed more favorably by fans and critics alike. <\/p>\n<p>The nomination is another big moment for Zendaya, who is having a blockbuster 2026. She is starring in some of the year\u2019s biggest films, including A24\u2019s \u201cThe Drama,\u201d which was released in April; \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d and \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day,\u201d both of which will hit theaters in July; and \u201cDune: Part Three,\u201d coming in December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just hope you don\u2019t get sick of me this year because I\u2019ll tell you what, after this I\u2019m disappearing for a little bit. I\u2019m going to have to go into hiding for just a little bit,\u201d the star told <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DWWgZT2j1fJ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEuphoria\u201d creator Sam Levinson and HBO confirmed that the <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/tv\/story\/2026-06-01\/euphoria-season-3-finale-sam-levinson-angus-cloud-rue\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">series\u2019 third season was its last<\/a> after years of speculation.<\/p>\n<p> <script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It\u2019s official: Zendaya is going for an Emmy Awards three-peat.
