Steveson enters his Octagon debut as one of the most decorated Heavyweight wrestlers in recent memory to transition into mixed martial arts (MMA). He is also carrying serious hype after starting his professional MMA career 3-0 with three first-round knockouts (watch highlights<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Now, he wants to make an immediate statement on the biggest card of the summer.<\/p>\n

During UFC 329 media day<\/a>, Steveson made it clear that he is not just looking to win. He wants to dominate, leave an impression, and put the entire Heavyweight division on notice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got so many great people in my ear telling me I can be the best, but I believe in those words as much as they tell me those words and believe it themselves,\u201d Steveson told UFC.com. \u201cSo, it\u2019s another day to show the world who I am and to show the next opponent what I can be and who they\u2019ll face.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then things got a little more cold-blooded.<\/p>\n

\u201cI measure success on Saturday night as a dominating victory \u2014 it has to be dominating,\u201d Steveson said. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t have to be perfect, and it doesn\u2019t have to be the best thing ever. I have to go out there and beat Elisha Ellison in the worst way possible that he could never think of. I don\u2019t want him to fight again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cold-blooded or not, that is one way to sell your UFC debut.<\/p>\n

Steveson has steamrolled through his first three professional MMA appearances, all by first-round knockout. In his most recent outing, he scored his best win to date by stopping the much more experienced Hugo Lezama (watch highlights<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Now, the real UFC test begins.<\/p>\n

Steveson is expected to win. He is expected to dominate. And based on his own words, he is expected to make Ellison regret signing the contract.<\/p>\n
