A Queensland family is appealing for information after the disappearance of a 30-year-old mother on the Darling Downs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jana Armstrong was last seen at a Gordon Avenue property at Newtown, a Toowoomba suburb about 120 kilometres west of Brisbane, on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Her car, a white Hyundai Kona, was found on the corner of Jellicoe Street and Gordon Avenue at Newtown about 6am on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said SES crews were assisting with the search today.<\/p>\n

Police are searching multiple areas in Toowoomba, including Black Gully Reserve, about 500 metres from a property where forensic officers were seen searching on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Ms Armstrong is described as Caucasian, about 165 centimetres tall, with blue eyes and brown hair.<\/p>\n

Police and her family are concerned for the young mother’s welfare, describing Ms Armstrong’s disappearance as out of character.<\/p>\n

Ms Armstrong’s eldest brother, Sam Davison, said his family was desperate for any information about the mother-of-one.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We want anyone with information about Jana’s disappearance to contact police or Crimestoppers or anyone in the family directly,” he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Davison said there were four siblings in their family and that his sister, Jana, always cared deeply for other people and had a beautiful heart.<\/p>\n

“We have two boys and she loved them so much she would come on holidays with us all the time, over at our place three nights a week,” Mr Davison said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said Ms Armstrong also spent a lot of time with their sister and her family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“She also loved to go places and be outdoors so much,” he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Davison said the siblings were very close and had all helped care for their parents in their final years.<\/p>\n

Friend Amelia Street said Ms Armstrong worked as a support worker.<\/p>\n

“She is such a gorgeous soul. She is an angel on earth,” Ms Street said.<\/p>\n

“I am absolutely desperate.”<\/p>\n

Through tears, Ms Street said her own three daughters were out searching for Ms Armstrong.<\/p>\n

Ms Street said her friend’s four-month-old baby was being cared for by a family member.<\/p>\n
