Sending your child off to university<\/a> is a rite of passage for so many parents, but that doesn’t make it easy.<\/p>\n

Naomi Watts<\/a>, 56, and \ufeffher ex-partner Liev Schreiber, 57, are currently feeling the bittersweet sting of this milestone after sending their eldest son, Sasha, 18, off to study at the University of Southern California.<\/p>\n

The two actors, who \ufeffsplit in 2016, shared their own emotional farewell posts to Instagram with Watts revealing that the moment left her “sobbing”.<\/p>\n

Watts, 56, shared a photo to her Instagram stories of \ufeffherself and Sasha standing outside with all of his luggage surrounding them.<\/p>\n

Sasha stands tall and hugs his mum, who has buried her face\ufeff into his shoulder appearing emotional.<\/p>\n

“Already bawling,” Watts captioned the photo.<\/p>\n

\ufeffShe then shared a second photo of Sasha hugging his younger sister Kai, 16, whom Watts and Schreiber welcomed a year after their firstborn.<\/p>\n

Sasha appeared emotional in the photo as he said goodbye to his sister.<\/p>\n

Schreiber also shared his own post in honour of his son as he heads off to university, admitting that he’s already “starting to feel the pull”.<\/p>\n

“Gonna miss my ride or die,” he wrote.<\/p>\n

“Having said that, USC is gonna get one of the deepest, kindest, bravest and most beautiful boys I have ever known.”<\/p>\n

He shared his heartfelt words alongside a photo of the father and son duo.<\/p>\n

In the photo, Schreiber wraps his arm around his son as the pair smile at the camera. Both men wear button up dress shirts.<\/p>\n

Sasha is moving across the country from New York City to start his first year of university in \ufeffLos Angeles.<\/p>\n

During their eleven years together, Schreiber and Watts welcomed their two children Sasha and Kai.<\/p>\n

They split in 2011 but have remained committed to co-parenting their two kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n
