THE Blanchard Racing Team has offered insight into what it\u2019s looking for with regards to its 2026 Repco Supercars Championship driver line-up.<\/p>\n

BRT is yet to commit a name to either of its seats next year, with James Courtney<\/a> retiring as a full-timer and Aaron Cameron<\/a> having only been called up after this season had already begun.<\/p>\n

Some silly season pieces have started falling into place, with speculation rampant that Cameron Hill<\/a> will join Brad Jones Racing and Jack Le Brocq will likely return to Matt Stone Racing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

BRT\u2019s ideal scenario is to retain Cameron and pair him with a recruit who has at least two years\u2019 experience.<\/p>\n

Cameron has come along in leaps and bounds at the past two rounds, including nabbing a top 10 qualifying and race result at the recent Ipswich Super440.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s doing all the right things right now, so as long as he keeps chipping away and making steps forward, then 100 percent he is in the box seat,\u201d BRT team manager Kate Harrington told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n

As for the other seat?<\/p>\n

\u201cI am of the opinion that where our team is at right now, two rookies would be tough for us to move forward,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a couple of years it could be a completely different story.<\/p>\n

\u201cExperience, whether that\u2019s two years under their belt going into their third year, or 10 years, I think we need that.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut at the same time we need to be looking ahead at who is also going to help push the team forward as well and get results and help Cammo get results as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have got to get the right person in that seat. JC has done a really good job and he is performing well, so we\u2019d love to keep him for another year but I don\u2019t think he is going to do that!<\/p>\n

\u201cBut that\u2019s where we\u2019re at. We need to try to get someone that has got at least a couple of years if not more experience under their belt to help our team for where we are at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryce Fullwood<\/a> or James Golding<\/a> could be among suitable candidates on the open market; likewise David Reynolds<\/a> if he were to become available.<\/p>\n

The direction would appear to be bad news for Rylan Gray<\/a> or Zak Best\u2019s BRT chances, unless they were to unseat Cameron \u2013 which in itself seems an increasingly long shot.<\/p>\n
