\n\t\u201cThe Hunger Games\u201d will play in theaters on Sept. 3, followed by \u201cCatching Fire\u201d on Sept. 4, \u201cMockingjay \u2014 Part 1\u201d on Sept. 5, \u201cMockingjay \u2014 Part 2\u201d on Sept. 6 and \u201cThe Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes\u201d on Sept. 7. The films are returning to theaters from Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment, and tickets are on sale now.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe upcoming film, \u201cSunrise on the Reaping,\u201d takes place 24 years before the events of \u201cThe Hunger Games\u201d and follows a young Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) during the Second Quarter Quell. Also starring are Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak and Kelvin Harrison Jr. Francis Lawrence directs and produces the film, with a screenplay by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson also serve as producers.<\/p>\n
\n\tBased on the book series by Suzanne Collins, \u201cThe Hunger Games\u201d was first adapted to film in 2012 with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks and Donald Sutherland. \u201cThe Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,\u201d the prequel following future president Coriolanus Snow, released in 2023 and starred Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The odds are in your favor, \u201cHunger Games\u201d fans.
