Welcome to 2026 NBA Summer League<\/a>!<\/p>\n All 30 NBA teams have sent squads of rookies, sophomores and NBA hopefuls, ready to vie for the Summer League championship and get a look at the fresh talents of the Association.<\/p>\n The Timberwolves pulled away from the Pelicans late to open our summer action, led by Zyon Pullin (24 pts, 8 reb, 12 ast).<\/p>\n The Hawks led wire-to-wire over the Spurs in the second game of the day, as seven players scored in double figures.<\/p>\n The 76ers dominated the glass to defeat the Pistons, as Johni Broome (19 pts, 13 reb) put up a monster double-double.<\/p>\n No. 9 pick Morez Johnson Jr. and No. 11 pick Yaxel Lendeborg, national championship-winning teammates at Michigan, are facing off (7 ET, ESPN<\/a>) in the Thomas & Mack Center, while the stacked Hornets and Magic rosters are playing in the Cox Pavilion (7:30 ET, Prime<\/a>).<\/p>\n JULY 9 \/ 8:00 p.m. ET<\/p>\n Warriors lead 59-39 at the half<\/p>\n LJ Cryer (16 pts) leads Golden State in scoring, aided by the all-around game of Yaxel Lendeborg (8 pts, 3 reb, 4 ast).<\/p>\n The Warriors are shooting 52.8% from the field, including 7-for-11 (63.6%) from 3-point range. Golden State\u2019s earned a 30-18 advantage on the boards.<\/p>\n Morez Johnson Jr. (14 pts, 6 reb) is the top man for the Mavericks.<\/p>\n JULY 9 \/ 7:45 p.m. ET<\/p>\n Hornets<\/a>\u2013Magic<\/a> underway in the Cox Pavilion<\/p>\n The Hornets, the reigning Summer League champions<\/a>, return NBA veterans Sion James, Ryan Kalkbrenner, Tidjane Sala\u00fcn and Liam McNeely for this year\u2019s squad, joined by first round picks Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson. Steinbach is a tireless rebounder out there.<\/p>\n The Magic boast Jase Richardson, the No. 25 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, as well as fellow NBA veterans Colin Castleton, TyTy Washington, Keon Johnson, Ricky Council IV, Hunter Tyson, Cam Reddish and Lester Quinones.<\/p>\n Quinones can score it; Reddish and Council IV are explosive athletes. Will be interesting to see if any of them pop.<\/p>\n JULY 9 \/ 7:36 p.m. ET<\/p>\n 76ers win 101-93<\/p>\n Johni Broome (19 pts, 13 reb) was a grown man on the glass for the 76ers, leading them over the Pistons in a tough battle.<\/p>\n \u201cI just want to win. ET<\/p>\n New rule in play for Summer League<\/p>\n This summer, we\u2019ll be testing the one free throw rule, which has been in place in the G League since the 2019-20 season.<\/p>\n The G League and Summer League have often served as testing labs for the league before bringing rule changes or amended policies into NBA games.<\/p>\n Among those that started at those levels and eventually got to the NBA: the coaches\u2019 challenge, resetting the 24-second shot clock to 14 seconds in offensive rebound situations and the one-shot award for a transition take foul \u2014 which is when a defender intentionally commits a foul to halt a transition opportunity for the opposition.<\/p>\n The one free throw rule will be tested at the upcoming NBA summer leagues. <\/p>\n With this rule, any foul that would typically result in one, two or three free throws under standard NBA rules will instead result in a single free throw attempt.
