Join now and get your first month for just $1.<\/a><\/p>\n CROWS STAR \u2018SHAKEN BUT PHYSICALLY OK\u2019 AFTER CAR ACCIDENT<\/p>\n Star Adelaide defender Josh Worrell has reportedly been involved in a car accident on Friday morning.<\/p>\n AFL journalist Tom Morris reports<\/a> Worrell is \u201cshaken but physically OK\u201d after the accident.<\/p>\n The 25-year old missed training on Friday as a result but is expected to face Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.<\/p>\n Foxfooty.com.au has contacted the Crows.<\/p>\n MORE TO COME.<\/p>\n \u2018TAKEN IT OUT OF HIS HANDS\u2019: SPP DONE FOR SEASON<\/p>\n Beloved Port Adelaide forward Sam Powell-Pepper will miss the remainder of the season as he grapples with the mental battle of consecutive ACL injuries on either knee.<\/p>\n Powell-Pepper was pulled from his second game back in the SANFL at quarter-time last weekend due to concerns with the wet conditions after an early knee scare.<\/p>\n The 28-year old has been put on an individual training program for around three to four weeks to help build up his confidence, with six games remaining in the SANFL campaign.<\/p>\n But Port coach Josh Carr confirmed the club had made the call to put Powell-Pepper on ice for the rest of 2026 with an eye on next season.<\/p>\n \u201cWe totally understand where it sits with him right now. Middle of winter, the ovals aren\u2019t great. He hasn\u2019t done a pre-season. So we\u2019ve taken it out of his hands,\u201d Carr said on Friday.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve had some good discussions over the past couple of days about what that looks like.<\/p>\n \u201cSo \u2018Pep\u2019 won\u2019t play again this year, we think the best thing for him is to get through this year and attack the pre-season.\u201d<\/p>\n Powell-Pepper injured his knee un the Round 17 match against Brisbane in 2025 (Photo by Russell Freeman\/AFL Photos via Getty Images)Source: FOX SPORTS<\/p>\n Powell-Pepper has played 158 AFL games since 2017.<\/p>\n He signed a four-year extension in 2024 while injured that runs through 2029 in a strong showing of faith from the club.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s all about getting everything right, and that time frame will take care of itself, whether it\u2019s this year (or) next year,\u201d Port assistance Darren Reeves said on Thursday.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s not really that important. It\u2019s around making sure he\u2019s 100 per cent ready to go.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a challenging couple of years for him. He\u2019s still a young man with still so much upside and importance in what we\u2019re doing as a football club.<\/p>\n \u201cMaking sure we\u2019re giving him every chance to be the best version of himself.\u201d<\/p>\n -Ben Cotton<\/p>\n FLAG COACH MAKES CALL ON BOMBERS JOB<\/p>\n Melbourne premiership coach Simon Goodwin has joined Nathan Buckley in turning down interest in the Essendon job<\/a>, after being sounded out by Bombers president Andrew Welsh. <\/p>\n Goodwin, the Swans\u2019 director of coaching and performance, has played an integral role in Sydney\u2019s fast-paced transition offence, having joined Dean Cox\u2019s staff at the end of last year. <\/p>\n It comes after Goodwin was dismissed by the Demons in August last year in somewhat acrimonious circumstances. <\/p>\n The experienced mentor has stated his desire to one day return to senior coaching, but speaking pre-game on Thursday night, it won\u2019t be with the Bombers. <\/p>\n \u201cI think I\u2019ve made it pretty clear that I\u2019m pretty open to some conversations,\u201d Goodwin told AFL Nation radio. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve had an inquiry and a chat with Andrew Welsh, but that\u2019s not a process I\u2019m going to lean into. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m loving my time in Sydney and continuing to evolve and get back into coaching and seeing where that takes me. <\/p>\n \u201cBut \u2026 it\u2019s got to feel right for you as well, and the club, so right as we sit here now, I won\u2019t be entering that process.
