Olympic boxer turned pugilistic podcaster and YouTube host Lynden Hosking is selling his Mt Macedon home that\u2019s definitely punching above its weight. <\/p>\n
Hosking represented Australia at the Atlanta Olympics in the welterweight category, and two years later claimed a bronze medal at the Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games. <\/p>\n
While he also contested World Championship events in Europe for a number of years, he never turned professional. But after hanging up the gloves himself he has gone on to take roles as a promoter and represented the likes of Jeff Horn and Tim Tszyu.<\/p>\n
RELATED: Olympic legend Cathy Freeman to sell Brighton mansion<\/a><\/p>\n Block stars risk $120k on home flip<\/a><\/p>\n AFL star sells home for cracker $4.6m price tag<\/a><\/p>\n But he still maintains a gruelling, six-day a week training schedule and jumps into his own private ring, added to the gym he built into his garage, for sparing sessions from time to time.<\/p>\n Along with wife Tara and their two sons, the family have called the 34 Ferrier St home since 2016 and slowly upgraded it over that time. <\/p>\n It\u2019s just been listed for sale with a $1.95m-$2.05m asking price.<\/p>\n The 34 Ferrier St, Mt Macedon, home has a striking facade.<\/p>\n A heated indoor pool is among the home\u2019s more recent additions.<\/p>\n In addition to a home gym that\u2019s kitted out for the next owner to train like an Olympian, they\u2019ve also added a heated indoor pool, and a podcasting room to support his shows including a weekly wrap entitled Talking Boxing and a daily show he voices while walking his British bulldog, Neil, called Walking Boxing. <\/p>\n \u201cPlus the spa is great. Picture: David Caird<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re home bodies, and have made it a place we don\u2019t have to leave.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a house that we don\u2019t really want to sell, but we are now looking for something that will better suit our sons, so we can have more room.<\/p>\n \u201cMy wife will miss the pool and I will miss the gym, but I can build one of them anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n Hosking, who began boxing aged 10, said he was considering opening a boxing gym for youngsters interested in learning the pugilistic arts, but would also be adding a ring to his next home.<\/p>\n Jellis Craig Woodend\u2019s Jenny Stewart said while the garage could be converted back, she had never seen a home with its own boxing ring. <\/p>\n \u201cBut even just homes with a pool or a gym are rare,\u201d Ms Stewart said.<\/p>\n Lynden has become a big fan of the recently added home theatre.<\/p>\n The two-level home has soaring ceilings and a chalet-style vibe in the main living area.<\/p>\n The agent added that after a handful of inspections buyers were appreciating the indoor pool and the home\u2019s high ceilings, but she noted the addition of a north-facing living zone that opened to a deck as well as a private domain for the main bedroom upstairs that included two walk-in wardrobes and ensuite gave it a lot of appeal.<\/p>\n Sign up to the Herald Sun Weekly Real Estate Update.
