Collingwood coach Craig McRae says the technology used for the AFL\u2019s video review replays is not up to standard.<\/p>\n
McRae made his feelings clear after Magpie Patrick Lipinski had a goal denied in the final quarter in the Magpies\u2019 stirring four-point win over North Melbourne on Friday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, look, I have a strong opinion. I don\u2019t often share it, but the technology is not up to scratch, and I know that because I\u2019ve seen the technology out there that\u2019s way better than what we\u2019re using, and the AFL have seen it, too,\u201d McRae said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe decision itself is what it is, but the technology doesn\u2019t show the full picture. It misses a frame. Now it probably looked like it was touched … we\u2019ve got technology that\u2019s there to be used.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot sure why the AFL are resisting using it. I\u2019m not privy to any conversation other than though, I\u2019ve seen the footage, the footage is out there that we could be using.\u201c<\/p>\n
McRae said a \u201cprivate company\u201d offered the state-of-the-art technology.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve seen it myself. I\u2019ve seen the frame-by-frame capability of this technology. That\u2019s only one version. I\u2019m sure there\u2019s more,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
