{"id":791491,"date":"2026-07-10T14:16:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T14:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/791491\/"},"modified":"2026-07-10T14:16:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T14:16:11","slug":"fia-president-drops-major-hint-of-christian-horner-f1-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/791491\/","title":{"rendered":"FIA president drops major hint of Christian Horner F1 return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem has hinted that Christian Horner is ready for a return to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a>, amid continuing speculation about his next move.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Horner has been constantly rumoured to be making a return to F1, following his sensational departure from Red Bull last July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Horner, who led the Milton Keynes-based squad to six Constructors\u2019 Championships and eight Drivers\u2019 Championships, came to a formal agreement in September 2025 to which he left the team completely, which eventually left him free to seek alternative routes back into the sport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last weekend\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/racing\/2026\/great-britain\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">British Grand Prix<\/a> marked the first time Horner stepped back into a F1 paddock since his exit last year, the race that was his last as Team Principal and CEO.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, he has been seen at other recent motorsport events, including MotoGP at Jerez, as well as the Monaco E-Prix in May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked if he is excited to see Horner come back Ben Sulayem, quoted by ESPN, replied: \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked further if he believes it will happen, he responded: \u201cHe will get back. Where is not for me to say \u2013 even if I know, it is for him to say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FIA president further went on to make the case that Horner\u2019s success should take priority over the controversy that surrounded his Red Bull exit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou look at his background, everyone makes mistakes. But did he deliver?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat do you want?
