Premier Boxing Champions and TGB Promotions, which puts on all of PBC\u2019s events, and DAZN announced a rights deal on Thursday that will see those cards now stream on DAZN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The deal was announced at a news conference in Los Angeles in conjunction with the kickoff news conference for WBA welterweight titlist Rolando Romero\u2019s first defense against former two-division champion Teofimo Lopez, which will take place on Aug. 22 as a DAZN pay-per-view event<\/a> at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

PBC\u2019s events have streamed on Prime Video since March 2024 but almost all of them have been pay-per-views cards with little or no financial backing from Prime Video. Under the deal with DAZN, the pay-per-view events will be available on DAZN and via Prime Video but DAZN will also pay a rights fee to stream a series of non-pay-per-view cards on its platform.<\/p>\n

PBC\/TGB was the final piece of the puzzle for DAZN, which calls itself \u201cthe global home of boxing\u201d and now has deals with all of boxing\u2019s major legacy promoters as it also has agreements in place with Top Rank, Golden Boy, Matchroom Boxing and Queensberry as well as smaller promoters such as Boxxer, Salita Promotions and MFP Pro. Upstart Zuffa Boxing, armed with a nine-figure annual deal from Paramount+, is the other player in the business but uninterested in working with other promoters or sanctioning bodies.<\/p>\n

While the DAZN deal with PBC\/TGB puts all the major promoters on the same platform, which in theory will make it easier to make the biggest fights with less politics than have plagued the sport for decades, the agreement goes only through the end of this year. If things go well an extension seems likely.<\/p>\n

The deal kicks off with the previously announced pay-per-view card headlined by the middleweight bout between Errol Spence Jr. and Tim Tszyu on July 25 from Sydney, Australia.<\/p>\n
