That was a chipper Reuben Goodall<\/a>\u2019s reaction after impressing in qualifying this morning<\/a> on main game debut at the NTI Townsville 500.<\/p>\n

The Tickford Racing youngster outdid six full-timers in the process, including race-winning trio Jack Le Brocq<\/a>, Andr\u00e9 Heimgartner<\/a> and Cameron Hill<\/a>, and will start just one position behind Triple Eight star Broc Feeney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All told, he got within 0.0268s of progressing to the second phase of qualifying.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsidering where we were yesterday, it\u2019s good,\u201d he continued on the broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously we were 24th yesterday and 19th today, made some really progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the lap time was there, it\u2019s still just trying to piece together these things in this car that I\u2019m trying to get my head around. It\u2019s pretty difficult but we\u2019re making it work.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have got a big 200km race this arvo and then another qualifying session tomorrow so hopefully we\u2019ll be able to keep working on it and move up the grid a little bit more.\u201d<\/p>\n

This afternoon\u2019s 68-lapper will be the longest race of Goodall\u2019s career, starting at 3:05pm.<\/p>\n
