Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cameron Boozer’s father, former NBA forward Carlos Boozer, discussed his son’s strengths as he competed in the 2026 NBA Summer League.<\/p>\n
“His skillset’s amazing, he’s so versatile,” Carlos told NBA on Prime’s Cassidy Hubbarth (0:45 mark). “Can shoot it, can play outside, can play inside, can be a hub like a point forward out there. Terrific passer. But his mind, he out-thinks everybody.”<\/p>\n
Cameron should immediately step into a large role with the Grizzlies during his inaugural season after they selected him at the No. 3 spot in the 2026 NBA draft.<\/p>\n
During his 2025-26 season at Duke, he averaged 22.5 points and 10.2 rebounds to go along with 4.1 assists per game. Boozer shot 55.6 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from three-point territory.<\/p>\n
While the 18-year-old was making his Las Vegas Summer League debut on Friday, he previously appeared in a pair of games for Memphis during Salt Lake City Summer League action.<\/p>\n
