{"id":793078,"date":"2026-07-11T07:41:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-11T07:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/793078\/"},"modified":"2026-07-11T07:41:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-11T07:41:13","slug":"sharks-notes-celebrini-allan-barracuda-pro-hockey-rumors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/793078\/","title":{"rendered":"Sharks Notes: Celebrini, Allan, Barracuda \u2013 Pro Hockey Rumors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"byline\">\n  By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prohockeyrumors.com\/author\/brianlarose\" title=\"Posts by Brian La Rose\" rel=\"author nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brian La Rose<\/a> |<br \/>\n  at July 10, 2026 10:00 pm  <\/p>\n<p>While Sharks center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/celebma01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-10_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Macklin Celebrini<\/a> didn\u2019t take home a gold medal in international action this year, he\u2019s taking home an end-of-year international award.\u00a0 The IIHF <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iihf.com\/en\/news\/75347\/xx_named_player_of_the_year\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announced<\/a> that Celebrini has been voted the IIHF\u2019s Male Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season.\u00a0 Carolina\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/a\/ahose01.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sebastian Aho<\/a> (Finland) finished second in voting while Winnipeg\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/helleco01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-10_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Connor Hellebuyck<\/a> (USA) was third.\u00a0 On top of finishing fourth in NHL scoring last season with 115 points, Celebrini had 10 points in six games at the Olympics, adding 14 more in 10 appearances at the Worlds, finishing second in scoring in both events.\u00a0 That earned him a spot on nearly 41% of the ballots which was enough to take home the award.<\/p>\n<p>More from San Jose:<\/p>\n<p>Assistant GM Joe Will met with reporters today to discuss the team\u2019s farm system. He noted to reporters including Curtis Pashelka of The Mercury News (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CurtisPashelka\/status\/2075647558740054085\" rel=\"nofollow\">Twitter link<\/a>) that he expects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/a\/allanno01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-10_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nolan Allan<\/a> to make a push for a roster spot with the Sharks in the fall.\u00a0 Acquired midseason as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/brossla01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-10_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Laurent Brossoit<\/a> trade, the 23-year-old will be waiver-eligible for the first time in 2026-27 which could help his chances of breaking camp with the big club.\u00a0 Allan has 43 career NHL contests under his belt with Chicago and had 14 points in 35 games with the Barracuda after being acquired.\u00a0 He signed a two-year, minimum-salary contract last month.<br \/>\nSpeaking of the Barracuda, Will indicated (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Real_Max_Miller\/status\/2075647137933668550\" rel=\"nofollow\">via Sharks Hockey Digest\u2019s Max Miller<\/a>) that a pair of veterans aren\u2019t expected to return next season in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/w\/whiteco02.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Colin White<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/w\/wahlsol01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-10_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Oliver Wahlstrom<\/a>. White spent the last two seasons in San Jose, playing primarily in the minors.\u00a0 The 29-year-old is coming off a strong showing, notching 48 points in 46 games but appears to be moving on.\u00a0 As for Wahlstrom, he notched 24 goals and 18 assists in 62 games last season, his first in the organization after coming over from Boston.\u00a0 The 2018 first-rounder had to settle for an AHL contract for 2025-26 and could be facing that same fate again heading into next season.<br \/>\nLastly, the Barracuda will be losing another netminder as AHL Hartford <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hartfordwolfpack.com\/news\/detail\/hartford-wolf-pack-ink-g-gabriel-carriere\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announced<\/a> the signing of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eliteprospects.com\/player\/302114\/gabriel-carriere\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gabriel Carriere<\/a>.
