Before Belly opens her dorm room ahead of her freshman year\u2014a flashback that takes place in the first five minutes of the season premiere\u2014her brother Steven Conklin (Sean Kaufman) quickly scribbled \u201cBelly\u201d over her full name, \u201cIsabel,\u201d on the door. In subsequent scenes, her college friend Anika Johnson (Sofia Bryant) calls her Belly.<\/p>\n
However, in the book, Belly didn\u2019t correct anyone who called her by her government name.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t plan to start going by Isabel. It just happened,\u201d she said in the book. \u201cI remember the way I fumbled with my key and how I looked up at the door and saw it. \u2018Isabel,\u2019 it was in glue-on rhinestones.\u201d<\/p>\n
