It wasn’t long ago that a shoulder joint injury ruled Crichton out of Origin II.

“He’s inside. He’s feeling a bit better in there,” Canterbury coach Cameron Ciraldo said post-match.

“He did lose feeling down one arm there and was a little bit scary. He wanted to get up but I think the trainers were just safety first and made him stay there.”

“It was pretty chaotic,” added Kurt Mann.

“Stephen’s one of our our closest mates out there, so (it was) a little bit scary… a few boys went over and checked on him. You know the doctors and the physios were doing a good job on him, and and we didn’t get too much feedback with him so we just tried to stay warm and prepare.

“I think we still had another 15 minutes to go. The first turned the match on its head and gave the Raiders real momentum to lead 22-nil at half-time.

With vision more akin to the likes of Harry Grant, Pattie saw the opportunity to pounce leading to the Raiders second try to a bullocking Noah Martin charging onto a short ball from Ethan Sanders.

And then his second made it 26-4 with a kick to come and gave Hosking his second try. He then set one up with one handed off-load bamboozling the Bulldogs defence to put Hosking over for his third.

Owen Pattie has looked the goods. It was one of many incidents to leave egg on their faces.

SAVAGE CHANNELS THE WORLD CUP, PATTIE THE NFL

After his 100 metre effort, Savage then made his mark again to create another Raiders’ try in the 24- point win at Accor Stadium.

A bit of left foot magic from a mid-air bomb was scooped up b y the star of the show, Pattie, which was then basketballed one-handed over the top to put Hosking over the line under the posts.

“It’s gone from Lionel Messi to Patrick Mahomes to Zac Hosking to score, that’s a high-priced try that.” Andrew Voss remarked in commentary.

STAT ATTACK (via Fox Lab)

Fox Lab Expected Set Points: Raiders 18.9, Bulldogs 18.2

– A poor performance with the ball for the Bulldogs, completing just 66 percent of their sets (their second worst this season).

– Raiders’ biggest win and highest score of the season. Just the second time they have won consecutive games.

– Raiders’ biggest win over the Bulldogs since 2012 – only the third time they have cracked the 40 point mark against them. The victory snapped a three game losing streak for the Raiders against the Bulldogs.

– The Bulldogs’ ninth loss of the season, with their winning streak ending at three games. Lost only eight regular season games in 2025.
