<\/p>\nA woman\u2019s scathing rejection to become a bridesmaid has been backed online, after she cited one particular reason.<\/p>\n
The woman said her childhood best friend\u2019s brother was getting married, and she was surprisingly asked to become a bridesmaid.<\/p>\n
The Reddit user explained that over the years of being friends, she had become part of the family but was shocked to be asked to take on the wedding party role.<\/p>\n
After rejecting the request, the woman offered one savage explanation, which led to an almighty blow-up, she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe is not a girl\u2019s girl,\u201d she wrote in a Reddit post.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe (fawns) over the guys and will make backhanded compliments to put down the women around her so she looks better.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman explained that people in the family do not \u201ccare\u201d for the bride and that the groom’s mother has been having a \u201crough time\u201d with the relationship.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy best friend tries to avoid her as much as possible, and I have seen her behaviour.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman explained that the bride-to-be had asked her sister-in-law, who is the Reddit user\u2019s best friend, to be a bridesmaid first.<\/p>\n

However, she had been unable to find two more bridesmaids, in order to match with the number of groomsmen on the day.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cLast I heard, she asked her boss and was turned down,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n
The woman claimed it was the bride-to-be’s behaviour towards other woman that meant \u201cshe doesn\u2019t have any girlfriends\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got a call from her, and she asked me to be her bridesmaid,\u201d recounted the Reddit user.<\/p>\n
After telling her \u201cno\u201d politely, her husband received a call from the bride-to-be.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy husband handed me the phone, and we got into an argument,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt went on for a while and in the end I told her that it is not my fault she doesn\u2019t have (a) female friend,\u201d<\/p>\n
After abruptly hanging up, the woman said she is now being pestered to apologize by the groom-to-be, with the situation resulting in a \u201cbig mess\u201d.<\/p>\n
Despite the family\u2019s plea for reconciliation, others online backed the woman and her brutal response.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s her own fault and you don\u2019t owe her anything,\u201d one user wrote.<\/p>\n
Another added that \u201cshe had it coming\u201d.<\/p>\n
One user even suggested that the bride-to-be would be likely to stitch up her bridesmaids.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy be a bridesmaid for someone who you\u2019re not friends with?\u201d they asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s just using you to make her look good.<\/p>\n
