(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/\">WWSB<\/a>) &#8211; A Sarasota business owner is converting a construction wall along Tuttle Avenue into an outdoor gallery for local artists, after a city code enforcement complaint sparked the idea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The project began when residents mistook Anthony Gimenez\u2019s unfinished construction wall for graffiti and reported it to code enforcement. The complaint led Gimenez to open the wall to local artists instead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOnce he said I could paint anything I want on my own wall\u2014 I thought why not let others paint on the wall too,\u201d Gimenez said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Gimenez opened the wall to local artists selected through a Facebook vote by residents who pass the site daily.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For artist Ginger Kreithen, the visibility along one of Sarasota\u2019s busiest corridors is an opportunity she said she has not had before.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cTuttle is such an inaugural part of Sarasota, so having somewhere like local and Sarasota\u2014 where my art is where everybody will see it every day and maybe come over and be curious. It\u2019s such an amazing opportunity that I\u2019ve never had before,\u201d Kreithen said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/2026\/07\/11\/manatee-village-historical-park-celebrates-50-years-with-free-community-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/2026\/07\/11\/manatee-village-historical-park-celebrates-50-years-with-free-community-event\/\">Manatee Village Historical Park celebrates 50 years with free community event<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The murals are expected to remain up while construction continues, though Gimenez said a firm timeline has not been set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Kreithen said the exposure carries weight for artists at her level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cHaving somewhere here that people see every single day is going to be amazing for artists like us who are pretty small,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The murals are on display along Tuttle Avenue in Sarasota.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWSB.
