Prop forward\u00a0Tevita Tatola has crashed over for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.<\/p>\n
The Bunnies were gifted an attacking chance when Newcastle’s Kalyn Ponga and Greg Marzhew were indecisive under a high kick, leading to a knock-on.<\/p>\n

The Newcastle Knights cannot catch a break today.<\/p>\n
They looked set to score after making a break down the right touchline.<\/p>\n
But winger Dom Young put his foot in touch before passing back on the inside for what would have been the team’s first try.<\/p>\n

After being given a reprieve by the Bunker twice, it is South Sydney that scores the first try of the match.<\/p>\n
Attacking the goal-line, the Rabbitohs shifted to the right and created an overlap, allowing right winger\u00a0Campbell Graham to score untouched.<\/p>\n
From near the right touchline, Aston Ward missed the conversion attempt to the right.<\/p>\n

The Newcastle Knights have ripped through the middle of the South Sydney defence and have scored.<\/p>\n
But the Bunker is going to bring it back.<\/p>\n
Centre Dane Gagai made a huge line break up the middle. But the whole Gagai run through was created by prop Trey Mooeny being in the way for Souths’ captain Cam Murray.<\/p>\n

Referee Grant Atkins blows his whistle, and the first of three matches on NRL Sunday begins.<\/p>\n
The Knights have the first use of the ball, running to the right of your screen.<\/p>\n
It is a good set from the away side, who get the footy to halfway before a big midfield bomb.<\/p>\n
That bomb was caught by Knights centre Dane Gagai, but the Rabbitohs defenders swarm him to end the set.<\/p>\n

Jai Arrow thanks the community for their support<\/p>\n
Jai Arrow is the focus at Stadium Australia this afternoon.<\/p>\n
On his birthday, he is being celebrated as the Rabbitohs face the Knights.<\/p>\n
Arrow was diagnosed with\u00a0Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a\u00a0neurological disorder which does not have a cure.<\/p>\n
It was a condition the late Neale Daniher lived with for many years until his passing earlier this year.<\/p>\n
This afternoon, funds are being raised for the Arrows, as well as awareness of this horrid disease.<\/p>\n
Arrow has just been interviewed on Fox League in front of thousands of fans who have come to Stadium Australia to celebrate his birthday.<\/p>\n
I’m truly honoured to be here. I want to thank everyone from, me and my family, the bottom of our hearts.<\/p>\n
The amount of support that we’ve had is truly overwhelming.<\/p>\n

The Canberra Raiders have made it a 2-0 start to the NRLW season with a commanding win at home over the New Zealand Warriors.<\/p>\n
Mackenzie Wiki scored a try in each half for the Green Machine, as the Raiders converted an 18-6 half-time lead to a 42-16 victory.<\/p>\n

Today is Jai Arrow’s birthday.<\/p>\n
The Former NRL player and Queensland State of Origin representative was forced into retirement following his\u00a0Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis.<\/p>\n

The Australian sporting community, not just rugby league, has rallied behind Jai and his family since the announcement.<\/p>\n
You will have seen players celebrating tries by shooting arrows into the crowd; this is part of the NRL’s Jai July.<\/p>\n
