South Sydney have held off the Knights to celebrate Jai Arrow\u2019s 31st birthday in style in the opening game of a Sunday triple header.<\/p>\n
The match was dubbed the World\u2019s Biggest Birthday Party to celebrate the former Rabbitoh, who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Anthony Albense was on hand as the Wiggles led a big crowd singing Happy Birthday and Arrow cut a custom-made cake at half-time.<\/p>\n
The Rabbitohs looked to be cruising to victory when they jumped out to a 26-6 lead with 15 minutes to play before Newcastle fullback Kalyn Ponga kickstarted a furious late rally.<\/p>\n
Three tries in seven minutes cut the gap to two, with the Knights having a chance to win it in the final minute.<\/p>\n
South Sydney held firm to secure a 26-24 win and get the party started.<\/p>\n
From there we head to the Northern Beaches for Manly’s clash with the Cowboys.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Kieran Foran’s side suffered a shock loss to Parramatta last week and they’re desperate to bounce back on their home turf.\u00a0<\/p>\n
