Draymond Green took the opportunity while on a recent golf trip in Puerto Rico with LeBron James to pitch the NBA’s all-time leading scorer on the idea of teaming up in free agency.<\/p>\n
“I’d be crazy if we’re together for x amount of days and at no point am I like, ‘Yo, we need to chop it up. What the hell going on? What we doing?'” Green said<\/a> on “The Draymond Green Show.”<\/p>\n Green, 36, is reportedly expected to sign a multi-year deal to remain with the Golden State Warriors after declining a $27.7-million player option for 2026-27. That move could create the financial flexibility required to sign James.<\/p>\n “Of course the pitch was crazy,” Green added. ” … With the things I shared in it, it definitely is gonna make the brain work a little bit … but we weren’t going to hang out for a recruitment pitch.”<\/p>\n The Warriors have been linked<\/a> with a double swoop for James and his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate, Anthony Davis, who plays for the Washington Wizards. The Wizards have reportedly<\/a> dispelled the notion that Davis, who has one year left on his current terms and a player option for 2027-28, is on the trading block.<\/p>\n Warriors guard Steph Curry recently said<\/a> that playing alongside James “would be such a unique story in NBA history.” The four-time NBA champ attempted to quell speculation about James joining the Warriors, saying it’s “a little premature right now to talk about it.”<\/p>\n James’ agent, Rich Paul, insisted<\/a> last week that a decision wasn’t imminent. <\/p>\n
