Davis has been named as the WBA\u2019s \u2018champion-in-recess\u2019, due to the fact that he has defended the belt just once since June 2024, with legal issues causing an extended period of inactivity for the three-division world champion.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/2026\/feb\/01\/shakur-stevenson-teofimo-lopez-fight-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Stevenson stepped up to super-lightweight to claim Teofimo Lopez\u2019s WBO super-lightweight crown back in January<\/a>, fully intending to return to his natural division at lightweight in the aftermath.
