A woman has been left with the embarrassing task of telling her neighbour that she could be seen showering through her frosted bathroom window.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The woman asked for advice on Reddit, saying her neighbour “doesn’t know that her frosted glass isn’t enough to obscure the view of her showering”.<\/p>\n

“My neighbour is an older woman, and has frosted glass on her large bathroom window, facing the street,” she wrote.<\/p>\n

“When she is showering, you can see everything.”<\/p>\n

She explained that she wanted to tell her neighbour but did not want her to feel embarrassed.<\/p>\n

“Obviously, the right thing to do is tell her, but we have never spoken to each other, and I don’t want to embarrass her,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I was thinking I should maybe just leave her an anonymous letter, but at the same time, I have no idea how to word it and preserve her dignity.<\/p>\n

“It has probably been this way for years.”<\/p>\n

Commenters were divided, with some against an anonymous letter while others urged her to speak to the neighbour in person.<\/p>\n

“I think an anonymous letter is way scarier than a quick conversation,” one person wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“As a female who has lived alone, letting her know that the note is from a well-meaning person and not some stalker would very much be the best thing to do,” another person commented.<\/p>\n

One commenter suggested how to tell her neighbour in person.<\/p>\n

“‘Ma’am, I am very sorry to come to you, but I am worried you don’t know everyone can see through your bathroom windows,” they wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“‘I’m not trying to be funny, I’m concerned for your safety. If you know, sorry, I won’t bother you again.'”<\/p>\n

Another commenter shared a similar embarrassing experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“This happened to me. Do not stop her on the sidewalk and emphasise repeatedly that you can see everything,” the person commented.<\/p>\n

“A note is a good method, even with your name.”<\/p>\n

In an update posted to Reddit, the woman revealed she had asked another neighbour, who was on friendlier terms with the elderly resident, to speak with her.<\/p>\n

“My next-door neighbour knocked on her door and talked to her. She was quite embarrassed but thankful that she was made aware,” the woman wrote.<\/p>\n

“She said she had a curtain up before but took it down… 10 years ago. She really thought you couldn’t see in.<\/p>\n
