{"id":797075,"date":"2026-07-13T07:24:30","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T07:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/797075\/"},"modified":"2026-07-13T07:24:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T07:24:30","slug":"former-49ers-wr-trent-taylor-announces-nfl-retirement-nbc-sports-bay-area-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/797075\/","title":{"rendered":"Former 49ers WR Trent Taylor announces NFL retirement \u2013 NBC Sports Bay Area &#038; California"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>49ers tight end George Kittle has been all over the place over the past week.<\/p>\n<p>Last weekend, he was among the high-profile celebrities in attendance at Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift&#8217;s wedding, while this weekend, he helped celebrate the retirement of former 49ers wide receiver Trent Taylor.<\/p>\n<p>In posts that were shared across social media, Taylor&#8217;s wife threw the former Louisiana Tech star a retirement party.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ended the journey w\/ the same ones we started it with,&#8221; Sarah Taylor wrote on her Instagram story.<\/p>\n<p>The 49ers selected Taylor with the No. 177 pick in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He quickly burst onto the scene as a rookie, appearing in 15 games and recording 43 receptions for 430 yards and two touchdowns. <\/p>\n<p>But injuries quickly derailed Taylor&#8217;s once-promising career.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor, 32, would go on to spend three seasons with San Francisco before stints with the Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears, before returning to the 49ers in 2024.
