\t\t\t\tWe\u2019ve assembled the full bags of every Open Championship victor from the past ten years. Here\u2019s how equipment choice has changed from 2016 to 2025.<\/p>\n

Since 2019, The Open<\/a> has been the final opportunity for major championship glory in the men\u2019s game. There was already reverence for golf\u2019s oldest tournament, but the added pressure of that \u2018last chance saloon\u2019 scenario has elevated The Open to arguably the most exciting major of the year.<\/p>\n

Victors at this championship require total control of their game to navigate the demands of the golf courses and, more often than not, the challenging British weather.<\/p>\n

In that pursuit, what we can guarantee is that no piece of equipment makes it into those bags without purpose and we\u2019ve assembled the complete list of every winning golf club and ball used by the Claret Jug-winners of the past decade.<\/p>\n

While we only have nine champions compared to our other major-winning bags of the last ten years, due to the cancellation of the 2020 Open from COVID-19, there\u2019s still plenty you can glean for your own game ahead of your next trip to the links.<\/p>\n

Check out the full bag breakdowns below, but here\u2019s some noticeable features we\u2019ve found from the winning equipment used at The Open Championship:<\/p>\n

Only one player in the last ten years has had more than one fairway wood in the bag, with Collin Morikawa<\/a> using a 3-wood and 5-wood for his victory at Royal St George\u2019s in 2021.<\/p>\n

The eight remaining champions all opted for at least one driving iron, adding a 2- or 3-iron to suit the firmer ground and high winds.<\/p>\n

Not unexpectedly, Titleist rules the roost when it comes to golf balls with six players gaming a Pro V1 model. Srixon, Callaway, and TaylorMade share second place with one victory each.<\/p>\n

Wedge options are an essential piece of the puzzle for tackling an Open Championship\u2019s conditions. Seven of the nine players carried three or more designated wedges for their wins, with only Shane Lowry<\/a> and Henrik Stenson limiting themselves to two.
