Lagerald Vick, a former University of Kansas basketball player and a starter on their 2018 Final Four team, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder in \u2060Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Vick, 29, was a guard for the Jayhawks from 2015 to 2019.<\/p>\n

He was arrested in Memphis on Saturday in connection with a \u20604 July shooting in the city and was also charged with using a firearm during \u2060the commission of a dangerous felony.<\/p>\n

According to arrest documents obtained \u200bby ESPN<\/a>, a man \u200cwho was hospitalized \u200cfor a gunshot wound to the back told police \u200che tried to run away after a fight when he saw the other man was armed. The shooting victim identified Vick as the alleged shooter in a photo lineup.<\/p>\n

Bail was set at $1.5m for Vick, \u200cwho was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. He is already facing two felony charges \u200bin a separate incident, accused of theft and breaking into a former girlfriend\u2019s home earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Vick averaged 9.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 117 games (61 starts) for \u2060the Jayhawks, including a career-high 14.1 points during \u200bhis senior season \u200bin 2018-19.<\/p>\n

Undrafted by \u200bthe NBA in 2019, Vick played professionally \u200bin Taiwan, \u200cColombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Uruguay \u200band \u200bNew Zealand from 2019 to 2024.<\/p>\n

Per ESPN, Vick was the subject of a Title IX investigation during his freshman campaign in Lawrence, Kansas, after he allegedly punched and kicked a female student.
