Jarome Luai has a new club.<\/p>\n

As expected, the Tigers five-eighth is set to link up with the Parramatta Eels on a one-year deal to partner Mitchell Moses in 2027. <\/p>\n

That is according to Code Sports<\/a>, with the publication reporting the Eels will pay $700,000 of Luai\u2019s $1.2 million contract next year. That means the Tigers will chip in $500,000.<\/p>\n

Rugby Australia also showed interest in Luai<\/a>, who will join the PNG Chiefs for their inaugural 2028 season.<\/p>\n

But before he becomes the face of the NRL\u2019s soon-to-be newest franchise Luai will look to lead the Eels back to the promised land, linking up with former State of Origin teammate Mitchell Moses. <\/p>\n

Eels coach Jason Ryles didn\u2019t exactly deny the club\u2019s interest in Luai<\/a> when asked about it following the loss to the Roosters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen elite players become available, we are always interested and we are in a position to execute on stuff,\u201d Ryles said at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether it\u2019s one of the next ones or whoever it is, we\u2019ll work that out as we go.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we have a really clear strategy that we\u2019re working towards and obviously we\u2019ve got a lot of young players here at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIzzy\u2019s signed for five years. Mitchell\u2019s signed for five years. Tallyn\u2019s signed for four years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve extended Ryley (and) we\u2019ve extended a number of players (and) we\u2019re looking to extend more.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a long-term view and anyone who\u2019s an elite player that becomes available that we think\u2019s going to help us going forward into the future, we are very interested in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Tigers will release Luai at the end of the year to prioritise their young talent, including the Fainu brothers, with coach Benji Marshall explaining that decision in a press conference<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
