London City Lionesses can confirm that Kosovare Asllani has signed a contract\u00a0extension until the summer of 2027.<\/p>\n
Asllani joined London City in June 2024 and was named club captain. She netted15 goal\u00a0involvements across her first season in London City colours and topped the\u00a0Barclays Women\u2019s Super League Two assist charts as the club historically earned\u00a0promotion to the Women\u2019s Super League.<\/p>\n
She led the club in their maiden top-flight campaign, scoring the club\u2019s first-ever goal in the\u00a0league against Arsenal and featured 21 times in the 2025\/26 season.<\/p>\n
In March 2026, Asllani suffered a complex multi-ligament injury, including anterior cruciate\u00a0ligament, in London City\u2019s Barclays Women\u2019s Super League match against West Ham\u00a0United and is currently undertaking her rehabilitation.<\/p>\n
Earlier in her career, Asllani has won the Damallsvenskan twice and the Barclays Women\u2019s\u00a0Super League, whilst playing for some of Europe\u2019s biggest clubs, including Paris Saint-\u00a0Germain, Manchester City, Real Madridand AC Milan.<\/p>\n
A true icon of the women\u2019s game, having played over 200 times for Sweden, the 36-year-\u00a0old has captained her country in numerous major tournaments and has two World Cup\u00a0bronze medals and two Olympic silver medals to her name.<\/p>\n
Everyone at London City will continue to support Kosovare closely as she continues\u00a0her rehabilitation journey.<\/p>\n
