A young man has died after falling from a building in Sydney\u2019s CBD, police have confirmed. <\/p>\n
Emergency services attended the corner of Kent Street and Market Street at 2.20pm on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
At least two ambulances and six police cars were at the scene. <\/p>\n
Sydney City Police Area Command officers attempted to speak with the man, believed to be aged in his 20s, who then allegedly fell from a ledge, police said. <\/p>\n
Police immediately started CPR until paramedics arrived, but he died at the scene<\/p>\n
One office worker, who asked to remain anonymous, said a police car pulled up moments before the tragedy unfolded. <\/p>\n
\u201cThen came the most haunting sound,\u201d he told news.com.au.<\/p>\n
The witness said \u201cat least 20 people\u201d were in \u201ctears \u2026 stunned silence\u201d. <\/p>\n
NSW Police confirmed a critical incident investigation has been launched. <\/p>\n
\u201cA crime scene has been established and a Critical Incident Team from Kings Cross Police Area Command will lead the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,\u201d police said. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe investigation will be reviewed by the Professional Standards Command and oversighted by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC).<\/p>\n
\u201cA report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.\u201d <\/p>\n
