LOUDONVILLE, NY \u2013 The Siena Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs are proud to host their Fifth Annual Siena Basketball Court Rehab Dedication and Ice Cream Social presented by Luizzi Companies; Peter Luizzi & Brothers Contracting, Inc. benefiting St. Anne Institute on Thursday, July 30 from 5-6:30 p.m. at 160 N Main Ave in Albany. This marks the fifth consecutive summer in which the Siena Basketball programs have teamed up with a local partner to rehabilitate and refurbish a local basketball court benefiting a Capital Region Community. Previous beneficiaries have been Lansing Park in Cohoes (2022), Cheryl’s Lodge, a program of CAPTAIN Community Human Services in Clifton Park (2023), the George Street Basketball Court in Green Island (2024), and Girls, Inc. of the Greater Capital Region in Schenectady (2025). The court rehab project helps fulfill Siena Athletics’ mission to “Build Better Saints,” while embracing the College’s Franciscan values by giving back to the local community.

\nThe Siena Basketball Court Rehab Dedication and Ice Cream Social is a free community event open to all, and serves as the first opportunity for Saints fans to meet, mingle, and even shoot around with members of the 2026-27 men’s and women’s squads on the newly refurbished St. Anne basketball court. Head coaches\u00a0Nevada Smith<\/a> and Terry Primm<\/a> will offer remarks, and each attendee will receive one ticket upon arrival which can be redeemed for one free ice cream from the vendor on site, courtesy of Grasshopper Heating and Cooling.

\nWhile the Siena Basketball Court Rehab Dedication and Ice Cream Social is open to all and free of charge, those interested in attending are kindly asked to RSVP individually at\u00a0sienasaints.com\/rsvp<\/a>\u00a0by Monday, July 27 to help provide an accurate count.

\nProgramming will also include remarks from event sponsor\u00a0Luizzi Companies<\/a>, who will formally dedicate and reveal the official name of the court. Siena Athletics and its basketball programs are grateful to Luizzi Companies, as well as additional local\u00a0partners Dicks House of Sport in Latham and Grasshopper Heating and Cooling for their partnership executing the annual court rehab dedication project.\u00a0

\nThe 2026-27 Siena Men’s and Women’s Basketball seasons are just around the corner, and the excitement surrounding both programs is high. Led by new head coach Smith, the men’s program is primed to defend their conference championship. Primm leads a women’s team set to return four starters, highlighted by reigning conference Rookie of the Year Francesca Schiro<\/a>.
