Free agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs remains without a team as training camps loom at the end of July. However, “at least five teams” have checked in on the 11-year veteran, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on NFL Live.<\/p>\n

Last Wednesday, Diggs posted a YouTube video showcasing his training ahead of the 2026 season. <\/p>\n

At the 9:49 mark, Diggs spoke about his opinion regarding his placement in the NFL’s wide receiver hierarchy, specifically noting that he’s better than any other No. 2 wideout in the league.<\/p>\n

“My opinion, I can compete with anybody,” Diggs began.<\/p>\n

“But take those as your ones (WR1), right? You can’t name a number two better than me. There’s not a number two on a team. Let’s presumably give people the credit and just say, ‘Okay, you want to take the number one spot away?’ Name your number two receiver right now, and tell me how much he makes, and then my last question is: Is he better than me?”<\/p>\n

Diggs also said that he feels there are seven wide receivers who were “real No. 1s” in the league.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old caught 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns on 102 targets last season for the AFC champion New England Patriots. It was an impressive campaign considering he suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Oct. 2024 when playing for the Houston Texans.<\/p>\n

Last March, the Pats released Diggs due to his potential rising salary cap charge, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Diggs’ salary cap charge was set to rise from $10.5 million to $26.5 million, which was the catalyst for the move. If he was on the roster by the end of next week, he would have had an additional $6 million of his contract guaranteed.”<\/p>\n

As far as Diggs’ potential landing spot, the Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens could be possibilities, Fowler said. That would mark a return home to Maryland, where he was born, raised and went to college (University of Maryland).<\/p>\n

“I’m looking to the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia), that’s where he’s from. The Commanders certainly need a receiver. I think they’re looking for more like a speed option at this point, we’ll see. I don’t think it’ll be Brandon Aiyuk at this stage. <\/p>\n

“And the Baltimore Ravens.
