{"id":800914,"date":"2026-07-15T02:08:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T02:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/800914\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T02:08:20","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T02:08:20","slug":"cam-waters-says-supercars-chassis-change-not-reason-for-form-spike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/800914\/","title":{"rendered":"Cam Waters says Supercars chassis change not reason for form spike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THE previous time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-58-Cam-Waters\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cam Waters<\/a> was granted a chassis change in early 2024, an immediate upturn in form followed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the Tickford Racing star says his latest move into a new machine is not behind his sudden re-emergence as an out-and-out frontrunner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After experiencing a nearly 50-race drought without a pole or win, Waters has now recorded three poles and two wins across the past two race weekends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI wouldn\u2019t say it\u2019s got anything to do with the chassis because we rolled that out at Tassie and we still sucked,\u201d he said in typically matter-of-fact fashion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cReally, after Tassie we kind of just put our heads together again and worked out where we\u2019ve kind of been and changed our set-up philosophy again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve tried bloody everything this year and feel like we\u2019ve made a bit of progress obviously in Darwin and this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t want to get too ahead of myself, just want to take it race by race, and get to the next round and make sure we\u2019re fast there.
