Faldo\u2019s credentials to make such a judgement are difficult to question.<\/p>\n
The English legend won six major championships, including three Open titles, and remarkably made the cut in each of his first 23 appearances at golf\u2019s oldest major.<\/p>\n
But Faldo didn\u2019t stop at questioning DeChambeau\u2019s links strategy.<\/p>\n
The former world No. 1 also reignited his long-running criticism of LIV Golf, suggesting the Saudi-backed circuit is failing to prepare its biggest stars for the unique pressures of major championship golf.<\/p>\n
With DeChambeau widely regarded as LIV Golf\u2019s biggest attraction, Faldo saw the American\u2019s recent struggles as evidence of a much larger issue.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a whole part of the story how they\u2019re superstars at LIV, then come over and can\u2019t do it, so that\u2019s another story,\u201d Faldo said.<\/p>\n
The comments echoed criticism Faldo made in 2025 when he labelled LIV players \u201csoft\u201d because they compete in no-cut events where poor performances carry far fewer consequences.<\/p>\n
