{"id":801177,"date":"2026-07-15T04:59:23","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T04:59:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/801177\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T04:59:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T04:59:23","slug":"cowboys-charles-snowden-suspended-three-games-for-dui","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/801177\/","title":{"rendered":"Cowboys&#8217; Charles Snowden suspended three games for DUI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cowboys\u2019 defense has already taken a slight hit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dallas pass rusher Charles Snowden has been suspended for the first three games of 2026, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/transactions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to the NFL\u2019s transactions wire<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While Snowden reached a plea agreement to resolve a driving under the influence arrest from January 2024, the incident was still deemed a violation of the league\u2019s personal conduct policy and led to the suspension, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/nfl-news-roundup-latest-league-updates-from-tuesday-july-14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">per NFL Network<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39985975\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/GettyImages-2254840203.jpg\" alt=\"Raiders player Malcolm Koonce (#49) celebrating a play during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs.\" class=\"wp-image-39985975\"  \/>Charles Snowden has been suspended three games by the NFL. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Snowden won\u2019t be eligible to play until the Cowboys\u2019 Week 4 game against the Texans, but he can participate in training camp and the team\u2019s three preseason games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old will miss games against the Giants, Commanders and Ravens.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Before joining the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2021, Snowden spent four years at Virginia, where he tallied 15 sacks and 191 tackles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Snowden made his NFL debut in December 2021 with the Bears and joined the Buccaneers practice squad in 2022, but couldn\u2019t carve out much of a role.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The pass rusher then found a spot with the Raiders in 2024, recording 1.5 sacks and 39 tackles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last year with Las Vegas, Snowden played in 15 games, tallying three sacks while grabbing his first career interception.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39985976\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/GettyImages-2244895657.jpg\" alt=\"Las Vegas Raiders player wearing a black jersey with the number 49.\" class=\"wp-image-39985976\"  \/>Charles Snowden before a 2025 NFL game with the Raiders.
