\u201cSo I\u2019m kind of reinstated as a member, and I\u2019m free to play PGA Tour sanctioned tournaments from the 25th of August this year,\u201d he explained afterwards.<\/p>\n
Stenson will not playing on the PGA Tour upon his return Stateside, but the PGA Tour Champions, the over-50s circuit for which he\u2019s now eligible. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m playing some Champions events and some bits and pieces on the back end of the schedule.\u00a0So I\u2019ll probably get to 13, 14 tournaments when it\u2019s all said and done at this point. Could be something in Europe, and there will be one in Asia as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cEven if you\u2019re playing a little bit less of a schedule, you\u2019ve still got to work on those air miles and make sure you\u2019re keeping gold status somewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
Stenson has played only four times this year, making his early Open renaissance all the more impressive. <\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, time flies, as we know, waits for no one,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u201cSometimes it feels like it certainly was a decade ago.\u00a0 With other things you feel like maybe it was a little more recent.<\/p>\n
