Durham have named all-rounder Kasey Aldridge as their new captain for the One-Day Cup campaign.<\/p>\n

Aldridge, who is in his first full season with Durham after joining from Somerset, will step up with red-ball and T20 captain Alex Lees free to concentrate solely on playing.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old’s first match in charge will be on Tuesday away to Derbyshire Falcons when his side will include Ben Stokes<\/a> in his first match since stepping down as England’s Test captain.<\/p>\n

“Kasey came for his first season in first-class cricket with Durham and in one pre-season he was unanimously voted into that leadership group,” head coach Ryan Campbell told the club’s website, external<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“That takes some doing.
