Maximo Quiles<\/a> and the CFMOTO Aspar Team continue their dream together in 2027 as the Spanish star moves into Moto2. The Moto3 Championship leader makes the jump to the intermediate category at the end of this season after completing two years in the lightweight class. To date, the Spaniard has competed in 29 Moto3 races, winning nine races and securing 19 podiums. He currently leads the 2026 Moto3 World Championship by 104 points.<\/p>\n

Quiles looks to follow in the footsteps of Albert Arenas (2020), Izan Guevara (2022) and David Alonso (2024), who all won the Moto3 title before making the step to Moto2. The Murcian was the 2023 European Talent Cup Champion (now the Moto4 European Cup) with the Aspar Junior Team in 2023 before he made his Moto3 World Championship debut in 2025.<\/p>\n

Jorge Martinez ‘Aspar’: “We\u2019re delighted to be able to compete with Maximo Quiles in Moto2. This year he\u2019s been the rider to beat in Moto3, and we\u2019re going to keep working hard over the coming months to finish the season as champions before making the leap to the intermediate category. We believe he is ready for all the challenges that lie ahead, and we know that together we can give our very best. Furthermore, with Maximo\u2019s move to Moto2 \u2013 just as we did with Arenas, Guevara and Alonso \u2013 we are continuing to consolidate our rider development model from grassroots level right through to the World Championship, one of the hallmarks of the CFMOTO Aspar Team.”<\/p>\n

Maximo Quiles: “I\u2019m really motivated and can\u2019t wait to try out the Moto2 bike \u2013 I\u2019m really looking forward to it. I think it\u2019s going to be a bike that really suits my style and is great fun. I\u2019m tall and have long arms, so I think this type of bike will suit me well.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s been a very good first half of the year, to be honest. We\u2019re all very happy with these results. The whole team\u2019s work has been, and continues to be, excellent, and things have gone very well for me too. What I was clear about was that our aim was to be leaders of the category. At the moment there\u2019s quite a points gap, but I hadn\u2019t thought about exactly how many \u2013 it didn\u2019t matter to me whether it was one, fifty or a hundred points.
