Uno-X had enjoyed a triumphant day the day before with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idlprocycling.com\/cycling\/waerenskjold-stuns-top-favorites-in-bizarre-sprint-finish-of-tour-de-france-stage-11\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Soren Waerenskjold\u2019s victory<\/a>, but on Thursday, the Norwegian, just like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idlprocycling.com\/jonas-abrahamsen\" title=\"Jonas Abrahamsen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jonas Abrahamsen<\/a>, took a hard fall. Thankfully, both men came away relatively unscathed. Abrahamsen thanks his helmet for that.Waerenskjold and Abrahamsen had nowhere to go when Fernando Gaviria and his teammates crashed in front of them. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idlprocycling.com\/cycling\/2026-tour-de-france-start-list-dropouts-10-dropouts-after-10-days\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gaviria and Jenno Berckmoes broke their collarbones<\/a>, but for now, the Uno-X riders have gotten off with nothing more than bruises and scrapes. \u201cBut their whole body aches, and that\u2019s never pleasant,\u201d said team manager Hushovd.After the race, Abrahamsen posted on Instagram about the crash, in which he plowed hard into the barriers. \u201cSorry to the Tour de France for the broken barriers!\u201d \ud83d\ude2cEverything is fine with me and my teammates after today\u2019s crash \ud83d\ude00Thanks to Sweet Protection for the great helmet,\u201d said the Norwegian cyclist, who also posted footage of  the incident<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Da3I8s5jj7j\/?hl=nl&amp;img_index=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> on his social media accounts.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Read more below the video!<\/p>\n<p>Abrahamsen and Waerenskjold spoke to Norwegian press after crash<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It went better than I thought. I was probably going 60 to 70 kilometers per hour. I didn&#8217;t have time to brake. It was a hard crash,&#8221; Abrahamsen told TV2. &#8220;There\u2019s not much you can do about it. Sometimes you fall. It\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve crashed since I broke my collarbone last year. That\u2019s just how it goes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Waerenskjold also spoke to TV2. \u201cI\u2019ve set a record for scrapes on my butt. There isn\u2019t much skin left there. Will I make it to Paris? We\u2019ll see. There isn\u2019t much left to win, except making it to Paris.
