CCTV footage has emerged showing the final moments of Perth father Cameron Hughes before he was found unresponsive in a toilet inside an Indonesian immigration detention cell.<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old, who ran a car restoration business, was detained by Balinese authorities on Friday over allegations he had breached his visa conditions.<\/p>\n

New CCTV footage released by Balinese police on Wednesday and obtained by the Daily Mail<\/a> captures Mr Hughes pacing around his immigration detention room in the moments before he was found unresponsive.<\/p>\n

He is seen briefly picking up what appears to be a water bottle from a small table in the corner before placing it back down.<\/p>\n

The footage ends with Mr Hughes walking into the bathroom and closing the door behind him.<\/p>\n

The CCTV was recorded at 4.52pm on Friday, July 10, the day he was detained.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail, investigators believe Mr Hughes died by suicide. He was later found unresponsive during a routine welfare check by an immigration officer.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring a routine check, the guard became suspicious after the Australian, Cameron James Michael Hughes, had been in the toilet for an unusually long time,\u201d police spokesman Senior Commander Ariasandy told the publication.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Bali immigration\u2019s Ngurah Rai office said previously released CCTV captured Mr Hughes laying motionless for an extended period of time inside the restroom.<\/p>\n

\u201cStaff checked vital signs, administered first aid, including supplemental oxygen, and co-ordinated with the nearest hospital to dispatch an ambulance,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cArriving medical personnel provided initial treatment before transferring the individual to the Bali Jimbaran General Hospital for intensive care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officials said Mr Hughes was declared dead on the way to the hospital. A preliminary medical assessment indicated he died from a cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe investigation is ongoing but our initial investigation alleged there is no foul play,\u201d Mr Ariasandy said, according to the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n
