The stage wasn’t meant for the GC riders, but as happens in Grand Tours, the fight for the Top10 can often be heavily influenced by successful breakaways. That is what happened today on the race’s longest stage.

As he did last year, TotalEnergies’ Jordan Jegat once again managed to sneak into the right group and has gained over 7 minutes to the peloton today, climbing into 11th place. He would’ve in fact climbed into the Top10 most likely, if only he hadn’t been joined by one of his direct rivals in the group of over 50 riders up front.

Tom Pidcock was 10th at the start of the day and he was the grand winner from the day. 7:30 minutes on the road, plus bonifications, were the Briton’s gains. Provisionally, at one point he was even ahead of Jonas Vingegaard. The massive time gain has altered the Tour’s GC quite a bit and introduced a new name in the fight for the podium. Pidcock has climbed to fourth at the end of the day, 4:15 minutes away from the yellow jersey of Tadej Pogacar but only 9 seconds away from the podium spot of Remco Evenepoel. Bahrain – Victorious, Lidl-Trek and Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe all worked in the finale looking to limit their losses.Rnk▼▲RiderTeamTime1- Pogačar TadejUAE Team Emirates – XRG47:18:312- Vingegaard JonasTeam Visma | Lease a Bike3:363- Evenepoel RemcoRed Bull – BORA – hansgrohe4:064▲6 Pidcock TomPinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team4:155▼1 Ayuso JuanLidl – Trek4:226▼1 Seixas PaulDecathlon CMA CGM Team4:357▼1 Lipowitz FlorianRed Bull – BORA – hansgrohe4:448▼1 del Toro IsaacUAE Team Emirates – XRG5:089▼1 Martinez LennyLidl – Trek5:4510▼1 Skjelmose MattiasBahrain – Victorious6:3411▲8 Jegat JordanTotalEnergies10:2612▼1 Bernal EganNetcompany INEOS12:1513▼1 Van Wilder IlanSoudal Quick-Step12:4314▼1 Piganzoli DavideTeam Visma | Lease a Bike13:3815▼1 Johannessen Tobias HallandUno-X Mobility14:5016▼1 Quinn SeanEF Education – EasyPost15:0817▼1 Voisard YannisTudor Pro Cycling Team15:3618▼1 Debruyne RamsesAlpecin – Premier Tech16:1319▼1 Carapaz RichardEF Education – EasyPost17:4320- Yates AdamUAE Team Emirates – XRG18:2621▲2 McNulty BrandonUAE Team Emirates – XRG18:3122- Kuss SeppTeam Visma | Lease a Bike20:5223▼2 Castrillo PabloMovistar Team30:1924- Benoot TiesjDecathlon CMA CGM Team33:1725▲1 Prodhomme NicolasDecathlon CMA CGM Team42:28Points Classification Standings after Stage 13

The first part of the stage saw a heated battle over the green jersey as Jasper Philipsen made it onto the early breakaway of the day and his Alpecin – Premier Tech teammates worked hard to prevent the return of Mads Pedersen and Biniam Girmay who were in a chasing group.

The catch was made but eventually Philipsen did still cross the sprint in first place. He has moved up to second place with 336 points, overtaking Girmay who now has 333 points. Both sit behind Mads Pedersen who has 377 points – a real gap, however one that will still be hard to close taking into consideration the Dane’s versatility and the difficulty of the race ahead. Disaster struck the German team who initially missed an entire breakaway of around 40 riders and chased on from behind. Mads Pedersen eventually got in the front group and saved the day green jersey-wise, but not here.

With Brandon McNulty and Tim Wellens finishing in the front group, there was a 14-minute gain over Lidl-Trek. The gap between the two teams is now of only 9:18 minutes, a much more manageable gap on a day where it was predicted that Lidl and its breakaway ambitions would’ve won time on the competition.

Rnk▼▲TeamClassTime1- Lidl – TrekWT141:53:382- UAE Team Emirates – XRGWT9:183▲1 Red Bull – BORA – hansgroheWT36:584▼1 Team Visma | Lease a BikeWT38:515- Decathlon CMA CGM TeamWT1:08:036- EF Education – EasyPostWT1:16:487- Netcompany INEOSWT1:17:268- Movistar TeamWT2:05:019- Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling TeamPRT2:06:2510- TotalEnergiesPRT2:15:51You can check the full standings of each of the classifications at the 2026 Tour de France.

With 21 stages and four major jersey competitions to follow, the Tour de France standings can change…

[569
64,63,784,6495,85,6494,63570,2845
post-806797","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cycling","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-cycling","tag-jonas-vingegaard","tag-sports","tag-tadej-pogacar","tag-tom-pidcock","tag-tour-de-france
["GET
