Pauline Hanson<\/a> has hit back at criticism from the Opposition Leader over her trip to an exclusive fashion show<\/a> in Italy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The One Nation<\/a> Leader attended an exclusive Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Sicily alongside mining billionaire and Australia\u2019s richest person<\/a>, Gina Rinehart, earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Hanson received criticism for being overseas rather than dealing with issues within her party.\u00a0Supplied<\/p>\n

She came under fire after images emerged of her attending the luxury event, prompting Angus Taylor<\/a> to question why she was overseas rather than focused on issues facing Australians<\/a> at home.<\/p>\n

Responding in a video posted to social media, Hanson defended the trip and rejected the criticism, stating she would not go to an event like that again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t believe you, Angus.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou actually have a go at me and say I should be back in Australia dealing with the cost of living<\/a>,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat an experience! I was invited to go and thought, but I\u2019ve never been to anything like that, it was fabulous, fantastic to see.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s not something I will ever go to again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Angus Taylor has called his rival out for not dealing with issues within the One Nation party.\u00a0Alex Ellinghausen<\/p>\n

The retorts come as Taylor told reporters on Thursday that it appeared that Hanson was \u201cliving it up\u201d in Italy, criticising her for not dealing with issues within her own party, like Malcolm Roberts praising Russian President Vladimir Putin<\/a> for his invasion of Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Photos posted on Instagram and first reported by\u00a0the Australian Financial Review\u00a0earlier this week showed Hanson and Rinehart together poolside at the Sicilian Grand Hotel San Pietro<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hanson\u2019s office on Thursday responded to questions about her relationship with Rinehart, saying the pair are friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor a long time now, it\u2019s been a matter of record that Senator Hanson and Mrs Rinehart are friends and that Mrs Rinehart is a strong supporter of One Nation,\u201d a spokesperson for her office said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSenator Hanson is grateful for the support from Mrs Rinehart, a successful Australian businesswoman and generous philanthropist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Australia\u2019s richest person Gina Rinehart spotted with Pauline Hanson.\u00a0Instagram<\/p>\n

Hanson jetted off to London early this month<\/a>\u00a0to spend her parliamentary winter break on a \u201cfact-finding mission\u201d and attend the Conservative Political Action Conference.<\/p>\n

She has used the time to speak with convicted criminal<\/a> and Islamophobic agitator Tommy Robinson, who took her around his hometown to confront migrants and question how they entered the country.<\/p>\n

Hanson\u2019s own right-hand man, One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce<\/a>, failed to support Robinson.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t support so much of what Tommy Robinson does, but I think it\u2019s incredibly important we understand the social dynamic and how that came about,\u201d he told the ABC on Thursday.<\/p>\n
